    STATE AND PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL
    BUSINESSES IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE PANDEMIC
    AND THE GLOBAL CRISIS

    In modern economic conditions, the topic of the article is relevant since the development of small businesses around the world is given great attention to due to the fact that one of the main criteria for an effective economy is a high proportion of small businesses. Small businesses are the guarantor of a flex- ible and dynamic economy, the activities of which are aimed at meeting local needs, development of re- gions, as well as solving socio-economic problems.
    The article aims to identify and analyze the main problems of small business development in the world in the context of the pandemic and crisis, and the ways to solve them.
    The subject of the study is the activity of small businesses in the context of the pandemic and the global crisis.
    The article reflects the state of small business on the example of data from experts of the World
    Development Bank, data from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, as well as data from the Committee of National Economy of Kazakhstan.
    Based on the results of study of the problems, the main ways to solve them are revealed, as well as measures to support small businesses to overcome the crisis are described.
    The article pays special attention to the issues of improving the process of developing business re- lations, which involve the process of searching and finding new perfect ways, mechanisms, and ways of developing small businesses in a crisis.
    The main research methods are comparative, systematic, and statistical analyses. The topic of the article is relevant, and in the future it is planned to conduct research on the assessment of the innovative potential of small businesses in the post-crisis period.
