11. What is characteristic of the Russian system of education? The education system in the Russian Federation is a complex of educational programs that are regulated by state standards of education, as well as educational systems implementing them, consisting of independent educational institutions subordinate to governing and controlling bodies. The peculiarities of the functioning of the Russian education system are due to the fact that it is a combination of four cooperating structures. Система образования в Российской Федерации представляет собой комплекс образовательных программ, которые регулируются государственными стандартами образования, а также реализующих их образовательных систем, состоящих из независимых образовательных учреждений, подчиненных руководящим и контролирующим органам. The main cities of Russia - I call those cities in which the meanings of our state are most concentrated. These are sacred, heroic cities, authentic spiritual and cultural centers. These cities for me are places outside of tourism, they are for multiple trips, reflections, feelings. Belgorod, Vladimir, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Moscow, Sevastopol, Sergiev Posad, St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl. Эти города для меня – места вне туризма, они для многократных поездок, размышлений, чувств. Moscow is the capital of our motherland. The financial, administrative, political, cultural, educational center of our country. The supreme authorities, the central offices of state bodies sit here, the Central Bank is here, the main banks are registered here, the offices of the country's largest companies are located. Москва столица нашей родины. Финансовый, административный, политический, культурный, образовательный центр нашей страны. Здесь сидят органы верховной власти, центральные аппараты государственных органов, здесь Центральный банк, здесь зарегистрированы основные банки, находятся офисы крупнейших компаний страны. 14. What are Russian people like? Russian people aren’t known for being friendly, but in fact they are some of the loveliest people you can ever meet. People in Russia are not smiling by default, this is just the national feature. Americans smile broadly even if they feel bad, but Russians only smile when they are truly happy. This is not the follow up from the era of communism and USSR. Even in the old days, there was a saying in Russia, “Smiling without a reason is the sign of foolishness”. Русские люди не славятся дружелюбием, но на самом деле они одни из самых красивых людей, которых вы когда-либо могли встретить. Люди в России по умолчанию не улыбаются, это просто национальная особенность. Американцы широко улыбаются, даже если им плохо, но русские улыбаются только тогда, когда они по-настоящему счастливы. Это не продолжение эпохи коммунизма и СССР. Еще в старину в России бытовала поговорка: “Улыбаться без причины-признак глупости”. 15. What can you say about the main sights of Russia? Russia is the largest country in the world by area, and there are so many attractions in it that even Russians themselves do not know about most of them. But the more clearly the main thing is visible: in the far West — the sandy beaches of the Baltic, in the Far East — volcanoes and geysers of Kamchatka. The North is the Arctic, for the desperate. The South has long been the favorite resorts of the Black Sea, and in the heart of the country there are two capitals and two rings of the most charming provincial cities, Golden and Silver. Moscow begins with Red Square and the Kremlin. Already here you can stay for a long time: see the cathedrals, visit the Armory and the Diamond Fund, go to the Lenin Mausoleum. "Whatever the house, the monument" - this is how they usually say about St. Petersburg.
