Приложение 3 MY WORKING DAY МОЙ РАБОЧИЙ ДЕНЬ Прочитайте и выучите следующие слова и словосочетания:
Прочитайте и переведите текст A: Text A My working day On week-days I usually get up at 7 o’clock. I make my bed, open the window and do my morning exercises. Then I go to the bathroom where I clean my teeth and wash myself. If I have enough time I take a cool shower. It really wakes me up and makes my body feel well. After bathroom I go back to my room where I dress myself and brush my hair. In 10 minutes I am ready for breakfast. It may be a cup of tea or coffee and a sandwich. After breakfast I put on my coat, take the bag and go to the college. As I live not far from the college it takes me only 10 minutes to get there. I don’t want to be late for the first lesson so I come to the college a few minutes before the bell. I leave my coat in the cloakroom and go upstairs to the classroom. The lessons begin at half past eight in the morning and they are over at two o’clock in the afternoon. I have 3 or 4 lessons a day with short breaks between them. After classes I go home and have dinner there. For dinner I usually have soup for the first course, hot meat or fish with some vegetables for the second. Then I drink a cup of tea or milk. Sometimes when I have to stay at the college after classes I go to the college canteen and have dinner there. After dinner I have a short rest, read newspapers and make some telephone calls. Then I do my homework. We study many subjects at the college and it takes me three or even more hours to do the homework. Sometimes I go to the library to get ready for my practical classes or to write a report. As a rule I have very little free time on my week-days. But when I have some spare time I do some work about the house: do the shopping and the cleaning. Eight o’clock is supper time in our family. We all get together in the kitchen, then go to the sitting-room and watch TV, read books or discuss different problems. Then I go for a walk with my dog. Twice a week I go to the college in the evening to play volleyball. I am a member of the college volleyball team and we have our training rather late. At about eleven at night I go to bed. РАБОЧИЙ ДЕНЬ СТУДЕНТА-МЕДИКА I. Прочитайте и выучите новые слова и словосочетания:
TEXT «THE WORKING DAY OF THE MEDICAL STUDENT» I am a second-year student of the Khabarovsk State Medical College. Every day I have much interesting and necessary work to do. I always remember that the lost time is never gained and that is why I don’t like to waste even a minute. I get up early in the morning. At about 7 a.m.I do my morning exercises and have cold rubdown. I consider that physical exercises are a good remedy for the protection of my health against diseases. I must remember the Latin saying «Menssana in corporasano». After my breakfast I go to the medical college by bus. My classes usually begin at 8 o’clock. Every day I have several practical classes in general and special subjects and a lecture or two. I attend lectures in Anatomy, Microbiology, Pharmacology and others. It is useful for me to listen to the lectures because the readers always deliver them clearly and scientifically and give much useful information. I know that I shall need deep knowledge of Anatomy in my future work. Only hard workwill give me the possibility to gain this knowledge. It is necessary for me to work hard during the whole academic year so that I can pass my first-year examinations successfully, for «A good beginning makes a good ending». During large intervals I have dinner. My classes are over at 2 o’clock but I don’t go home immediately. At home before going to bed I review some material in different subjects. I go to bed at half past eleven. I’m often tired but I understand that every day which passes by gives me much valuable and necessary knowledge. EXERCISES: I.
