Give information about the flat. Give the tour of the various rooms. Talk about the flat’s special characteristics. Be firm about the price. But above all, be positive. You are the buyer. Prepare lots of questions to ask about the flat. Talk about the flat’s disadvantages. The price is too high in your opinion. Try to negotiate a lower price. Track 2. Ex. 15. a. You are going to hear two people, Gavin and Lynn, talking about their friends’ new flat. Listen and answer the questions. Why did Nick and Carol move? What is nice about their new place? Work in pairs and discuss the questions about the place where you live. It’s really convenient for the shops. It gets quite noisy at night. It can be a bit dull at times. The neighbours are really friendly. It’s a bit small and we need more space. It’s quite a long way from where I work / study. There’s a lot of space and plenty of light.
