My daily routine is a bit different now that I’m working freelance, but when I was working regularly at the newspaper, I would start the day by getting up at about half past seven, have a shower, brush my teeth, put in my contact lenses and try to listen to the radio at eight o’clock, because they have fifteen minutes of news in English which was useful for my work. If there were any news stories I was interested in, I would quickly jot down the information and then follow it up at work. Then I would go to work, and maybe get a cake or something on the way, if I hadn’t had time for breakfast, or buy some fruit from a little stall on the street. Quite often I walked to work, which only took about twenty minutes. It was a good way to wake up, and I’d buy a newspaper on the way so I could read about what was happening in this country, as it used to be my task to write about the political comings and goings.

When I got to work, I was usually one of the first people there, which was quite nice because it meant I could make a cup of tea - being English, of course, I drink tea all the time. Next I’d read the paper, and then I’d start working on certain tasks that I’d have to do every week for the newspaper, like writing some short news briefs or going through the papers to find any interesting, juicy stories. The things they liked were murders, bank robberies and things like that.

Then I usually had a few interviews to do, and afterwards I’d write them up on the computer, and at some point I’d go out for lunch. I liked to just go out to the market and get some vegetables. I used to be a vegetarian in England, but it’s not quite so easy here. Well, it’s not only that it’s not easy, I actually quite liked meat, in Hungary I had an excuse, to try all of the different types of meat produce. Still, I don’t eat meat every day and I very rarely cook it, so I like to buy lots of vegetables. So, I would buy peppers and tomatoes and some bread rolls and things, and then have a cold lunch. In the afternoon, it would be more of the same, writing up, or maybe working on some longer story or interview.

Now that I work freelance, I tend to work at home a lot, or to go out and do interviews and then come home and type them up. If I want to use a computer, I go to a friend’s house. She doesn’t live very far away and I have a key to her flat, so I can use her computer and her fax machine, which is really useful as I can send off articles to newspapers. It’s difficult calling newspapers in England, because you have to call them in the mornings, and so it’s very expensive. Also, I find it quite difficult dealing with people on the phone. If they don’t know who you are, they just hear a name and a voice on the other end of the line and you have to be really pushy to sell your story to them. So the business side of journalism is quite difficult, and it’s not something that I particularly enjoy.

I used to come home at about seven. I stayed quite late at work, and then did some shopping on the way back to get some food for the evening, and when I got back I’d start cooking. My flatmate would cook maybe once a week, but I actually enjoy cooking. I find it really relaxing. After thinking all day, it’s nice to just chop up vegetables and think of something really mindless, and not have to concentrate too hard. I make a lot of Indian food, I suppose. My parents used to cook a lot of Indian meals with spices, so I bought lots of spices in London. Some of them are quite difficult to get here. My flatmate likes pasta and Italian food, so I cook that sometimes. I also cook a lot of vegetable dishes.

After dinner, I usually watch television. I usually watch the news in English and Hungarian. Quite often on weekdays I’m too tired to go out, but, if I do, maybe I go to the cinema with my flatmate or friends, or I go out to dine at other people’s houses. Where I go also depends on how much money I have. Sometimes I go out to a restaurant or go for a pizza.

Now we’ve got all these channels on the TV, it’s quite tempting to just stay in and watch something on TV. I brought a guitar with me from England and sometimes I play that, which is quite a good way of relaxing.

I don’t read as many books as I used to, say, when I was at university. This is probably because I have to read all day, reading newspapers, and I get a bit fed up with reading. So, unfortunately, I don’t read that much. I’ve bought lots of Hungarian literature though, and I keep telling myself that one day I’m going to read it all. However, when I come home from work I’m usually so exhausted that I just sit there, stare at the television and drink cups of tea all evening and go to bed maybe about midnight.

In her , the narrator talks about how the routine of her life changed after switching to freelance. If before she had to get to work every morning, now it is not necessary - because you have to work from home. When the narrator was working normally, she had to find out the news so that she could write about it in the newspaper, she also had lunch at work and came home late. When working from home, the narrator only needs to occasionally go out for various interviews and then make them into articles at home. The author also said that it is very convenient to use a fax machine - you do not need to call the newspapers to offer your articles, and she does not really like to talk on the phone. The author said that when she came home after work, she sometimes cooked Italian and vegetable dishes that her flatmate liked. After a working day, the narrator gets tired for walks, but sometimes goes out with her neighbor or friends. But more often than not, she watches TV while sitting on the sofa, drinks tea like a true Englishwoman, and goes to bed around midnight.
I agree with Lewis: both women and men should do their homework. This is the most democratic opinion that fits modern realities. In our time, not only men work, but also women. men are less often perceived as breadwinners, as was commonly believed 100 years ago. As for the dialogue in which a woman accuses her husband of not helping her around the house at all, I can say that I agree with the woman. Time is changing and it is a pity that some cannot let go of the orders of the past. Democracy and equality between men and women now prevail in the world, but this continues to be challenged. My subjective opinion is that household duties should be shared among all family members and that the house should be managed by a woman is fundamentally wrong.

    Dear Judy:

All's well with the John Grier—except for a broken tooth, a sprained wrist, a badly scratched knee, and one case of pinkeye. Betsy and I are being polite, but cool, toward the doctor. The annoying thing is that he is rather cool, too. And he seems to be under the impression that the drop in temperature is all on his side. He goes about his business in a scientific, impersonal way, entirely courteous, but somewhat detached.

However, the doctor is not disturbing us very extensively at present. We are about to receive a visit from a far more fascinating person than Sandy. The House of Representatives again rests from its labors, and Gordon enjoys a vacation, two days of which he is planning to spend at the Brantwood Inn.

I am delighted to hear that you have had enough seaside, and are considering our neighborhood for the rest of the summer. There are several spacious estates to be had within a few miles of the John Grier, and it will be a nice change for Jervis to come home only at week ends. After a pleasantly occupied absence, you will each have some new ideas to add to the common stock.

I can't add any further philosophy just now on the subject of married life, having to refresh my memory on the Monroe Doctrine and one or two other political topics.

I am looking eagerly forward to August and three months with you.

    As ever,

    SALLIE.

    Friday.

    Dear Enemy:

It's very forgiving of me to invite you to dinner after that volcanic explosion of last week. However, please come. You remember our philanthropic friend, Mr. Hallock, who sent us the peanuts and goldfish and other indigestible trifles? He will be with us tonight, so this is your chance to turn the stream of his benevolence into more hygienic channels. We dine at seven.

    As ever,

    SALLIE McBRIDE.

    Dear Enemy:

You should have lived in the days when each man inhabited a separate cave on a separate mountain.

    S. McBRIDE.

    Friday, 6:30.

    Dear Judy:

Gordon is here, and a reformed man so far as his attitude toward my asylum goes. He has discovered the world-old truth that the way to a mother's heart is through praise of her children, and he had nothing but praise for all 107 of mine. Even in the case of Loretta Higgins he found something pleasant to say. He thinks it nice that she isn't cross-eyed.

He went shopping with me in the village this afternoon, and was very helpful about picking out hair-ribbons for a couple of dozen little girls. He begged to choose Sadie Kate's himself, and after many hesitations he hit upon orange satin for one braid and emerald green for the other.

While we were immersed in this business I became aware of a neighboring customer, ostensibly engaged with hooks and eyes, but straining every ear to listen to our nonsense.

She was so dressed up in a picture hat, a spotted veil, a feather boa, and a NOUVEAU ART parasol that I never dreamed she was any acquaintance of mine till I happened to catch her eye with a familiar malicious gleam in it. She bowed stiffly, and disapprovingly; and I nodded back. Mrs. Maggie McGurk in her company clothes!

That is a pleasanter expression than she really has. Her smile is due to a slip of the pen.

Poor Mrs. McGurk can't understand any possible intellectual interest in a man. She suspects me of wanting to marry every single one that I meet. At first she thought I wanted to snatch away her doctor; but now, after seeing me with Gordon, she considers me a bigamous monster who wants them both.

    Good-by; some guests approach.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to complain about my products that I purchased in the "Megashan" store this afternoon.

I was shopping for groceries this morning. I was not satisfied with the assortment of the store that day. When I wanted to buy dairy products, all the products presented were expired. So, I asked the seller, why did the products are spoiled? He answered my questions very rudely and impolitely. Moreover, in the store there was a very large queue, only one seller worked and he could not break through the goods for a very long time.

I would like to receive an apology for the inconvenience caused and a refund for expired products, disrespectful attitude

The day everything went wrong»
I've heard a lot of stories from different people about how things went wrong for them in one day, and it impressed me, but not to the extent that it would impress a person who has experienced something like this. This would go on for who knows how long, until I would have experienced firsthand what "the day when everything went wrong" or "the day when things didn't go according to plan". I can say with all my courage that you wouldn't wish this on the enemy, because when things get out of control and you weren't even ready for it, it's terrible.

That day, I woke up as if nothing had happened at 4 a.m. and, surprisingly, without looking at the time or checking social networks, which I usually always do, I went to wash, brush my teeth and warm the kettle. Then I sat down to drink tea and quite accidentally noticed the clock on the microwave out of the corner of my eye. At that moment, my emotions were hard to describe: a mixture of disappointment, misunderstanding, but at the same time joy and delight. "It looks like I can sleep" - I thought, and went back to bed with relief. I fell asleep very quickly and woke up by 7 o'clock in the morning without an alarm clock and my first thought was "wow, my internal clock is working just fine today". I washed again, warmed the kettle again, and went back to breakfast. I did everything slowly, because I realized that I still had a lot of time and I would have time for everything and everywhere. But my story is about how everything went wrong, so in the story, of course, I started being late for school. Very quickly, I got ready, ran out of the house, grabbed my coat and ran to the bus stop, which is quite far from the house, and the bus I needed was going to arrive there soon. Halfway there, I realized that my back was cold, which meant there was something missing. Already angry, I ran home to get my backpack and didn't miss the chance to slip and fall. Taking my backpack and making sure that I didn't forget anything, I wandered to the bus stop, knowing that I wouldn't be able to catch the bus I needed. To my surprise, I saw that the bus hadn't left yet and I could get on it. I began to run to the bus and wave my hands so that the driver would notice me and not leave. But we all remember that I say about my bad day, so of course I didn't catch the bus. Already standing at the bus stop and a little cold, I decided to call a taxi, because I thought that I must not be late for lessons at all costs. While I was digging through my phone and looking for the taxi's phone number, I suddenly realized that I didn't remember what day of the week it was. With fear, I opened the calendar on my phone and saw the three letters "Sat" that killed me.

It is amazing what different incidents people have and how unusual way all the failures add up in one day. I was lucky that I was just inattentive and made my own problems on the day off. there are cases when a person is raining problems just from the sky and he has nowhere to hide. At such moments, a person has no idea what to do and how to gather strength. However, everything can be experienced, and all problems are temporary and solvable. This is the meaning of human existence - to fight with everything that prevents you from living.
The Little Prince»
"The Little Prince" is a children's fairy tale-a parable with a non-childish philosophy, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery in 1943. The fairy tale tells about a Little Prince who visits various planets in space, including Earth. It is worth reading at any age, and perhaps it is one of those books that are perceived differently after each new rereading. The author was really able to create a book on behalf of a child, a little naive and truthful. There is something in this that touches any person and makes them think about life in a new way. The book describes a lot of bright moments and characters that will be remembered for a long time, especially foxes. It is definitely worth getting acquainted with other works of the author, for example, "Planet of People".

Grocery list»
When I was in the 2nd grade, in the spring I went to the flower and gift shop because my friend had a birthday. I wanted to buy some helium balloons and a huge teddy bear. As I then reasoned, my finances should have been enough for gifts and even for a chocolate bar. Joyful, I fluttered into the store, grabbing a bear from the counter on the way and shouting that I needed 9 balls. The seller was confused, but began to inflate balloons. After everything was ready, I dumped a handful of coins on the cash register and proudly placed a 50-ruble bill on top. Words cannot describe how discouraged and surprised I was when they put me out the door of the store with a parting message that I needed to come here with my mom and handed me a balloon as a consolation. However, I, not discouraged, immediately went to a friend, taking a stray cat along the way.
The shopping»
Vika: Hi, Rita. So, are you ready for summer shopping?

Rita: Hi, Vika. You know, something tells me that I will buy a bunch of unnecessary things and in the summer I will wear fur headphones and pointe shoes.

Vika: So, it doesn't sound very good. I know you're an impulsive shopper, so I'm going to have to help you choose your clothes.

Rita: Then please make sure that I don't get chips and socks with cartoon characters.

Vika: No problem. Then, I think we need to limit ourselves to going to a maximum of 2 stores so as not to shop till we drop.

Rita: You're right, because we will definitely go for 3 liters of lemonade and a box of ice cream. Maybe we should time it so we don't come home in the middle of the night.

Vika: I agree with you. Oh, so many preparations for one shopping trip. Okay, there's a whole shopping mall ahead, we have to go.
Domestic chores»

Johnny: Hey, Mom, how would you like me to help you around the house?

Mom: Oh, Johnny, I think it would be great! Today I’ve got a lot of work to do, so a little help would be nice!

Johnny: So, look, I can go to the store, sweep the floor, dust the furniture, and water the flowers.

Mom: Oh, thank you, honey! You’d be a great help to me! You can start by going to the store. Wait a bit now, I’ll make a shopping list.

Johnny: Great! Here are the prices for my work.

Mom: The prices?! For your work?!

    Johnny: Well yes.

Mom: Well, maybe a small fee for your work will not hurt but benefit you.

Johnny: I appreciate my work, so I don't agree with you. I am a self-respecting person and will not tolerate being given a penny for spending my energy and brain resources.

Mom: OK, fine, let me see your prices… You know what?! This is the maximum that I can offer you.

Johnny: Are you kidding me? It doesn't compare in any way to what I expect!

Mom: No, I am not. You are living in MY house, eating MY food, and spending MY money. So, you can’t ask for anything more. I will pay you either this much or none at all.

    Johnny: Well, you’re right…

Mom: Yes, I am. I will pay you for the housework, but I also pay for your studies, therefore you will be obliged to pay me back in the future.
