    Задание 1. Ответьте на следующие вопросы (воспользуйтесь словарем, если это необходимо).

    1. How long have you been studying English?

    2. Do you like your English lessons?

    3. How much time a day do you learn English?

    4. What is the purpose of your English course?


    Задание 2. Прочтите слова из основного блока тематического словаря и разместите их в алфавитном порядке.
    Задание 3. Распределите слова из задания 2 на два столбика, в первом должны быть существительные (The Noun), во втором глаголы (The Verb).

    An essay

    A: Hello, Max!

    B: Hi, Jane. What are you doing?

    A: I am getting ready for my English lessons now.

    B: Do you have a lot to do?

    A: Oh, yes. I should read the text and do some exercises.

    B: Is that all?

    A: No, I should learn all these words for the next lesson. And what about you?

    B: Well, I have only one task - to write an essay.

    A: What is the theme?

    B: “Is it difficult for me to learn English?”

    A: Oh, it is an interesting task. What are you going to write about?

    B: I don’t know what to write exactly. Can you help me?

    A: Ok. What do you usually do at the English lessons?

    B: Well, we read the texts, do different exercises and learn grammar.

    A: Is it difficult for you?

    B: It’s hard to say. I think yes, but I learn a lot of new words and it is interesting for me to read English texts. Also I like to do grammar exercises.

    A: Do you listen to English cassettes?

    B: Sure, and even watch video.

    A: Is it difficult for you?

    B: Yes, it is. But we learn to pronounce words and phrases correctly.

    A: What else do you do at the lessons?

    B: We make dialogues with each other and learn to ask questions and to communicate.

    A: So, is it difficult for you to learn English?

    B: Yes, it is. But it is a pleasure for me to learn English.

    A: So if you write about that, you will get a good mark, I think.
    Задание 7. Прочитайте диалог еще раз. Согласитесь или нет со следующими высказываниями.

    1. Jane is doing her home task for the English lesson.

    3. At the English lessons Max reads texts, does different exercises, listens to English cassettes and watches video.

    A: Hello, Mark.

    A: Yes, I spent a great time there.

    A: I went to the Luch cinema.

    B: What was on?

    A: There was a cartoon and three feature films: a detective film, a love story, and a thriller.

    B: What did you watch?

    A: I saw “Butterfly Effect” - a thriller.

    B: Why did you choose it? I know you like cartoons.

    A: Yes, I like cartoons but I’ve already seen this one. So I made up my mind to watch feature films.

    B: Was it difficult to choose one?

    A: Oh, it was quite difficult. First I thought about love story, but I didn’t choose it because the last love story I saw was very boring.

    B: Then there was a detective film and a thriller.

    A: Yes, and I decided to see a detective film next time.

    B: So you saw “Butterfly Effect”. Was the film good?

    A: It was a horror film but I liked it. Good actors played in that film and the plot was exciting.

    B: I have not seen it. But I’ve heard much about it.

    A: So that is why I recommend you to go and to see this film.
