THE INDEFINITE TENSE-FORMS
The Present Indefinite Tense
Exercise 1. Write the following sentences in the 3^rd person singular.

1. I think I am ill. 2. They often visit their granny. 3. We live in Leeds. 4. You usually speak too quickly. 5. Do you like boiled potatoes? 6. Good animals always obey their masters. 7. The boys box in the gymnasium on Fridays. 8. His dogs always attack the neighbours. 9. Heavy trucks make a lot of noise. 10. I get up at 7 o’clock every day.
Exercise 2. Write the following sentences in the negative and in the interrogative.

1. She understands the rule. 2. He usually has breakfast at 8 o’clock. 3. The lecture starts at 10.15. 4. The flowers look fresh. 5. She usually walks in the morning. 6. Exercise 4. Translate the sentences into English.

Exercise 6. Translate into English.

The Past Indefinite Tense
Exercise 1. Put the verb into the correct form. All the sentences are past.

1. I (not / go) to work yesterday because I (not / be) very well. 2. I (study) English at school. 3. Last night we (watch) a football match on TV. 4. I (translate) this text with a dictionary. 5. Exercise 3. Complete the sentence with used to…

Exercise 4. Translate into English.

The Future Indefinite Tense
Exercise 1. a) Complete the sentences with I’ll + a suitable verb.

1. I’m too tired to walk home. I think … a taxi. 2. I feel a bit hungry. I think … something to eat. 3. Exercise 2. No Future. Complete the following sentences.

Exercise 4. Put the verb in brackets into the Present or Future Indefinite.

Exercise 5. All the sentences are future. Put the verbs into the correct form.

Exercise 6. Put in when or if.

Exercise 7. Translate into English.
